Flat Rat: A Slammed1950 Ford COE Firetruck On Air
I know, I know, I mentioned I’d write-up additional of this 1950 Ford COE just in excess of a week back. My terrible, I received a very little distracted. I’ll reveal why soon. But, get these extra images of my penance.
This truck, recognised as the Flat Rat hails from Keswick Ontario and was designed by it’s proprietor Scott Badger (@keswickscott).
Scott has owned the truck taxi about 10 a long time now. Factors truly received going on the truck about five decades in the past, with sizeable development being manufactured in the course of the pandemic.
From powering the tilt cab to wherever the personalized four-connection begins is most of a widened Chevy 3500 chassis. Forward of the entrance wheels is largely manufacturing unit Ford with signficant modifications completed to make the steering function at the truck’s new height.
The motor is a 7.3L Powerstroke with a T4 turbo enhance backed by an automated transmission.
Scott managed to keep as a lot original as he could, but he did have to change a little bit of sheet metal right here and on the taxi. The new additions were being sprayed by Scott in either white or crimson.
Scott and his son also produced all 11 toes of the bed from scratch.
Nothing at all additional than an English wheel and a Princess Vehicle bead roller was utilized in the bed building.
In actuality, the whole truck was constructed in a somewhat humble house garage. Proving at the time again that where by there is a will there’s a way when it arrives to do-it-you fabrication. Something that absolutely offered a bit of motivation for my possess challenge.
The tailgate of the truck is truly a second COE entrance end that has been modified to create a tailgate. Scott stuffed the grill, created it hinge and took the Super Duty embossing from a late model ford.
“If this is not Super Duty I really don’t know what is,” Scott explained.
For the eagle-eyed, yes the tail lights are rotated versions from a 65 Ford Mustang, Fairly clever if you question me.
Obviously, this truck is very significantly up my alley and I hope to see much more of it again soon.
Ontario is again jamming yet again and I’m totally here for it!
